Hello!

Betty Loades is a 2D animator and cartoonist based in Hull. She is a graduate from York St John University with a Bachelor of Arts in Animation. Her graduate film, Things Mice Can Do, won the Best Animation award at the York St John graduate awards ceremony, and it is currently in submission to film festivals worldwide.

In 2021, she developed a comic strip called ‘Capable Rupert’ which follows the adventures of an acrobat and his vendetta against the entertainment industry.

Her work is inspired by finding the humour in mundane aspects of life and creating characters that are simplistic but can showcase a range of detailed expressions.
